Reflection

1.      Joanne and Perlie

In annotation 1, Perlie and I try to use an easier way to clarify our ideas and convince you guys by sharing our experience and other high school students’ opinions toward wearing a uniform. In annotation 2, we both find an ad making uniforms as a symbol with different meanings to tell you why uniforms can be creative and why uniforms produce discrimination on the other hand. In this meeting, we have learned that finding strong statements from academic authority is really important to avoid being too general. Striving to go deeper, we plan to find some dissertations and examples of big companies. We will connect uniforms to social structure, including classes and power. Probably, there might be some comparisons between company and company.

We will try to find some deeper meanings behind uniforms instead of scratching the surface.

2.      Kevin and Alice

You two start your annotation 1 from the statement of the Facebook founder. That is a good choice. In both of your annotation 2, Kevin keeps explaining the idea why people love to be watched relating to newspaper while Alice claims that privacy is a big problem by taking an example of the film. I think in Kevin’s part, you can find some research or learned journals to proof your words. These resources can be scientific or psychological categories. Also, I suggest that paparazzi culture might also be a good subject. For Alice, more research will be helpful, too. Especially you mention that less and less people want to use FB considering the privacy problems. I would like to know the real statistics about it because what I know is that most of people don’t like to use FB because of disability of high-tech.

3.      Ivy and Zoe

I think you can find more resources to proof your ideas. For example, different culture has different parenting. You can analyze them and point out which is better than others? What are their pros and cons? And in what aspects do them affect their children. You might make your points broader and stronger.

4.      Ruby and Emma

I think you two have a big topic which is often discussed. And there are lots of information on the internet. To build a new point and go deeper, you can talk about human rights by searching some dissertations. And maybe find statistics, which will be helpful to know the trends and reasons behind them.

5.      Cassie and 學長
Your annotations provide us various information. And your ideas are interesting and innovative. It’s great that you both come up with strong examples from well-known figures. I suggest you introduce more maybe take an example of combining college or interview someone. That will be helpful to organize.
