Firstly, they make the decision to eat at home because it’s healthier. Nowadays, for the sake of providing consumers convenient and low-priced food, the safety of process is ignored. Although cooking requires skills and time, you can know what are in your meals clearly.

Some people think that eating at home is more money-saving. Meat, vegetables and other ingredients from supermarkets or grocery stores are very affordable, and the total cost of a homemade meal is much less than the cost of a meal at a restaurant. Usually, people go to restaurants for splendid cuisine to treat themselves better but if you do that too often, you will run out of money very soon.

Others might worry about the soaring price of the gas. Dining out certainly consumes lots of gas that will destroy the nature and also leads to traffic jam. You can imagine that in the small Taipei city, crowds swarming to dine out really cause problems.

Age is one of the factors involved. Most of the elderly have been raised with or grew up with a family or household that was always cooking and was big on home-cooked meals. For traditional Taiwanese concepts, it is good to sit down at the table and have family dinners or be together to eat.

Besides, for those who are going on a diet, eating at home can help you stay faithful to your diet plan. When you are dining out, you will be exposed to greater temptation to eat tasty but unhealthy food.

In modern life, a big proportion of people value convenience of eating more. However, to me, eating at home or cooking by myself is an amazing lifestyle.
